I am delighted to share this photo of myself on the set of All American 2024. Where I portrayed an Atlanta falcons coach. Returning to the industry in Los Angeles my hometown serves as a tribute to my late father, who devoted his life to television, film and the arts. His passion for the industry was deeply rooted in history, and he played a significant role in the development of the Atlanta arts scene. His efforts to preserve the Margaret Mitchell House, where Margaret Mitchell wrote Gone with the Wind, were instrumental in saving the historic landmark. The film adaptation of the novel was a landmark production, featuring the largest fire scene ever shot, the innovative use of matte paintings to complete partially constructed sets, and the second-ever use of this technique with Technicolor film. I vividly recall my father’s tireless efforts to save this historic house. His extensive knowledge of film and art history continues to inspire me. Although I have stepped away from the Atlanta film community, my true passion has always been painting. Unfortunately, a local gallery, H&H, saw fit to exclude me from the Atlanta art scene. Nevertheless, this does not diminish the lasting impact my father and I have had on Atlanta’s arts community. Some may say historic. I continue honoring my Father (David J. Ulrich) in Hollywood.
