Some memories arrive as complete stories. Others remain as textures, fragments, and traces that refuse to disappear.

This piece isn’t about illustrating a moment. It’s about preserving the feeling of one. Every layer buries another. Every scrape reveals something that came before. The drawing, the paint, the gestures, and the empty spaces all become evidence of time.

I think memory behaves this way. It isn’t linear. It shifts, fades, returns unexpectedly, and quietly reshapes who we become.

This work is part of my ongoing Textures as Memory series, exploring the emotional landscape that exists beneath language. It invites the viewer to bring their own history into the painting, allowing each person to discover something different within its surface.
