About the Work:
Today We Fly is a large-scale exploration of ascension, light, and architectural intuition. Built through a rich dialogue of organic washes, structural line work, and bold geometric passages, the composition balances weightlessness with grounded intentionality.
Soft, atmospheric fields of pale cream, soft gray, and weathered yellow establish a sense of vast interior space. Against this quiet horizon, vibrant shocks of cobalt blue, warm terra cotta, and deliberate linear motifs—reminiscent of ladders and suspended grid systems—create an energetic pull upward. The canvas invites the viewer into a state of transition, capturing the exact threshold where memory dissolves into movement and release.
Layers of subtle text and raw, exposed mark-making remain visible beneath the surface, offering a quiet history of the painting’s own creation. Today We Fly is an immersive, contemplative piece designed to anchor a space with both quiet serenity and dynamic visual momentum.
