There are moments in life when nothing changes, yet everything feels different.

Where the Light Waited explores that quiet threshold where memory, architecture, and emotion overlap. Built through successive layers of paint, subtraction, and reconstruction, the composition reveals fragments that appear familiar without belonging to any single place. Shapes become rooms. Color becomes atmosphere. Texture becomes time.

Rather than describing a landscape, this painting invites the viewer into an emotional one. The luminous yellow center emerges from muted blues, weathered earth tones, and soft sage greens like a moment of clarity appearing after uncertainty. Every scrape, wash, and edge remains visible, allowing the painting to preserve its own history instead of hiding it.

Created entirely by hand in my Southern California studio, this original work reflects my ongoing belief that every surface carries memory. The finished painting is not simply the final image. It is the accumulation of every decision that came before it.

Collectors often ask what my paintings represent.

I believe they represent the spaces we carry within us. The spaces in between.
