Curatorial Description
Through a physical process of layering, scraping, and re-application, the artist creates a field of subtle tension between revelation and erasure. A dense, rhythmic array of gestural inscriptions—including scribbled lineations, cross-hatching, structural symbols, and faint linear motifs—emerges from beneath veiled glazes of paint.
The composition is anchored by a soft shift in value, drifting from cooler slate and dusty indigo tones near the base into warmer, sun-bleached creams and ochres toward the upper registers. Darker, charcoal-like marks introduce a calligraphic urgency, puncturing the ethereal haze with deliberate, deliberate emphasis. Rather than dictating a singular narrative, the piece acts as a quiet record of time, touch, and expression—evoking aged architectural surfaces, urban street wall layers, or forgotten journals rendered on a monumental canvas.
